Well, a plant just happened to evolve that has interesting psychoactive effects on cats. It’s a complete coincidence.
Plants tend to evolve compounds with weird effects on animals because they help defend the plants against herbivores, and sometimes these compounds have side-effects on the minds of other animals. There’s no rule of nature that says every animal must have its own little drug. 🙂
