ELIF: What’s the difference in a physical therapist and a chiropractor?

I know that chiropractors are generally regarded as quack science and physical therapists are respected. I’m just wondering what the difference is. Don’t they both have to be certified?

PT’s do reconditioning of muscle tissue. chiro’s do alignment of bones, mostly the spine.
