from an anthropological pov is it likely that most pantheons were based on things that really happened with Neolithic tribes?

I’ve seen theories that Odhinn, for example, was a Volsungr warlord or chieftain and many theories regarding the Greek Pantheon of God’s and Titans… Have there been many anthropological studies that have turned up evidence of anything like this? I can see how it could easily be feasible, legendary tales building over eons etc

I doubt there’s any actual evidence of this because the events/people they’re loosely based on probably happened before we wrote stuff down but I’ve had a similar thought to you.

Like Zeus was probably a guy who could throw a spear really far and eventually that morphed into throwing a spear so far it would crack the sky and make lightning.
