CAS9 is like “DNA scissors” and in essence allows for “cut and paste” operations on DNA.

We can use this to edit DNA in a batch of stem cells harvested from a patient, edit a fixed DNA sequence in, and then put the stem cells back into the patient bearing the new DNA sequence
