The mirror outside the shower? It’s because you opened the curtain. With the curtain closed the steam goes up toward the vent. Once you open the curtain, the rest of the steam blasts out into the room and some condenses on the mirror.

When you open the glass door the temperature change causes the hot/steamy air to condense on any cold surfaces, like windows, ceramic vanities and mirrors

So the mirror is outside but the shower is surrounded by glass and is always imminently shut after getting out
