The same way any other advertisers online make money: enough people click the links and then they monetize that in some way or another, which may or may not be legal.
The advertisers themselves are usually affiliates/performance marketers operating independently from whatever they are promoting.
Here’s the ecosystem
– porn site surfers
– the porn site
– freelance affiliates
– CPA (cost per action) networks
– product vendors
the freelance affiliate finds offers to promote from the CPA networks. The affiliate basically creates their own marketing campaign for the product (they make the creatives used and pay for the traffic) and they get the agreed upon amount for whatever action is determined by the CPA network
The affiliate/advertiser gets money from each lead or sale generated from their marketing campaigns.
The porn site makes money from the advertisers (affiliates) buying traffic on their platform.
The vendor is getting leads and sales basically for free since the affiliate is the one spending all the money on the marketing campaign.
And the CPA network sits in the middle, making money off both. (as an exaggerated simplified example, the product vendor knows a customer is worth $200 bucks to them, they go to the CPA network and give them $100 for every sale they bring, and the CPA network will give an affiliate $50 for every sale.)
The actual product vendor themselves will often have absolutely no idea how their product is promoted or sold, just that they are getting customers “for free.”
