How are snake wranglers able to grab snakes by the tail and not get bitten?

They do get bitten. But a lot of the snake handlers you see for “entertainment” have had them undergo surgery to remove the venom. This is cruel for several reasons. But like snake removal experts use tools, gloves, etc..
now on the other hand people like the late Steve Irwin was just so in tune with wildlife that he was willing to take “risk” that me and you should never do.

Practice and knowing animal behavior. Also, they do sometimes get bitten, they just don’t advertise that part.

Generally, snakes don’t have teeth or venom at their tail, so that end of the danger noodle isn’t as hazardous. Knowing how snakes react, and keeping the business end away from them, they’ll be fairly well off. Bites do still happen though.
