You’ve seen mushrooms? A mushroom is just part of an organism called a fungus. Now most of a fungus is a tangle of really small tubes that are underground and inside the roots and trunks of trees and other plants. These small tubes are called mycelium and they can move nutrients out of the ground and into the plants, but they can also send chemical signals between plants.
