How can someone be super allergic to eggs, but have no problem eating chicken?

Well, and this is probably not quite what you are looking for, but strictly speaking an egg and a chicken are not the same thing.
A fertilized chicken egg could become a chicken. But an unfertilized egg is just that, an egg. So just like you could be allergic to cat hair. In that case you’re not really allergic to the cat, but something the cat produces.
