The way I see the question is this: time is a made up construct by man as a means of measurement, before “time” existed man would simply wake up and say ok its daylight i should go to work, now it is dark i should go home.

so a time before time existed means a time in history before man used a static measurement.

The explanation I know is not that there was time before time existed, but that there was in fact a beginning to time. As in, we often think of time going infinitely into the future, and going infinitely back into the past, when instead time only started existed with the Big Bang, when the universe existed. Before then there was nothing, nowhere, at no time.

Who said there is? Without any context to the question all we can really say is the premise itself is wrong. There is not time before time existed.

Time only exists because of space. Before space existed time couldn’t exist.

To think about it another way, two objects can’t occupy the same space at once. If I am sitting in my chair, you can’t also be sitting in my chair because I am using it right now. (You could sit on me but that is something different.). You would have to sit before or after me (at a different time). If you think about what time is, it is a way to explain where you are in any space or location. The two are linked.

So before space existed pre Big Bang, there was no time as everything shared the same space.
