How? Depends on the person, probably. For me, it’s the depression. My brain just decides to kick all the serotonin out before it has the chance to do its job.

The idea and the process are two very distinct things. That’s how procrastination works: you have the idea that something will be done, but it is never done.

This is usually because your brain associates doing that thing with unpleasant thoughts, so it subconsciously redirects you towards more gratifying things, like watching tv or eating.
