How come freckles don’t appear on the undersides of one’s arms?

So, I understand that freckles appear in connection with exposure to sunlight. Personally, I have them mostly/most densely on my arms. I walk with my back toward the sun just as often as I walk facing it — how come the undersides of my arms aren’t freckled?

The sun is almost always above you. The underside of your arms are just that, the underside. Regardless of where you are facing, they will be in shadow far far more often than in direct sunlight

1. Underside of your arm is more often in the shade as that side is turned towards your body.

2. You simply don’t have the melanin there in the first place.

It is not by definition a freckle free zone. I got freckles on the underside of my arms for example. I even got a few under my foot.

The back of your arms and the underside of you arms are two different places. The underside gets very little sun than the top, front, and back of your arms. And the front and backsides of your arms still significantly less than the top of your arms.

Undersides of my arms have freckles so I am not sure why yours don’t. Maybe in some more time they will appear. In short, they haven’t appeared on YOU yet, but they exist in other bodies.
