How come there is still no cure for rabies virus?

Rabies vaccine was first invented as early as around 1885 by Louis Pasteur. I was just wondering why rabies virus has very insignificant medical advancement and is still 100% lethal with no cure.

The Rabies Vaccine can actually be used as a sort of cure if administered soon enough in humans, due to the slow growing nature of the infection. The vaccine can help you build a resistance to it faster than the infection can take hold.
