How come we stop sneezing/coughing when we fall asleep?

Question

I have terrible allergies when it’s windy. Sometimes my only solace is to fall asleep. Why does this make the sneezing and runny nose stop?

I don’t know about the runny nose but your body has a way of immobilising you when you fall asleep to stop you from acting out your dreams and hurting yourself, I imagine this explains the sneezing /coughing
