How do airplane toilets work? 812 viewsJanuary 3, 2024 Question90.63K September 13, 2020 0 Comments Just wanting to understand where the suction is coming from when you flush, is it flushing outside the plane?? In: Technology 2 Answers ActiveNewestOldest Anonymous Posted September 13, 2020 0 Comments The aircraft has a vacuum pump onboard that sucks the contents of the toilet out. There’s a waste tank on the aircraft that has to be drained and rinsed by the ground crew. It’s just as pleasant a process as it sounds.
