How do animals, like Lions, supress their hunger for long periods of time?

I’m not sure I understand the question.

How would you suppress your hunger for long periods of time if you didn’t have access to food? You’d be miserable for a while and then your body would somewhat adjust.

How would a lion suppress their hunger for long periods of time if they didn’t have access to food? They’d deal with it because there isn’t an alternative. Or they’d eventually starve to death.
