how do children heal after being severely burned?

I was wondering if healing from severe burns, like 90% of the body 3 degrees, works different for children. After all, they have to grow up and the skin has to stretch enough, and they have faster cell replacement, right? Does this reduces the permanent damage?

Ninety percent burns would be difficult for anybody to come back from, not sure it is even possible.

Skin grafts can come from the patient, or from cadavers. While I do not know technically the answer to your question, possibly they could be replaced at some point if needed.

Not a child here, but I did receive cadaver grafts on my arms 3 years ago. Burn centers are amazing!
