They let you download the game for free from their website, play as much as you want and there are almost no ads.
This seems too sketchy for me to even try.

Many of these are financed by the people that made it available as they just want to share the experience. If it isn’t a server that needs a ton of extremely good hardware to run well then it may not actually be that expensive to run.
