Some foods are more acidic than others especially fruits, berries, and tomatoes. Babies who are starting solids do not have a fully mature digestive system and these foods can trigger diarrhea and/or partial digestion. If a baby with the fruit scoots isn’t given a diaper change quickly, these acids sit on the skin and are further irritated by heat, friction, and urine.

TL:DR; If you ate Chipotle with habanero sauce and then sat in your own filth for half the day, same deal.
