Salt water has a little bit higher density than fresh water, but otherwise, I find it strange, what are those items?

When the moon is above the ocean, the water actually bubbles up a bit, distorting the water completely. As the water moves, it creates a small current that can move smaller objects. With a little bit of luck, those small currents can move it towards the shore where there’s less downward pressure from the water, creating more of a drift. The closer to shore the sun object is, the higher the probability it was come to shore.

Most of it is just chance, for the most part, though. Especially since stuff is likely to get buried.
