How do hot drinks or a hot bath cool your body down in summer?

I always heard and read on the internet everywhere, that you should shower hot in summer, not cold. Likewise, you should drink hot tea instead of cold Ice Tea. Why is that? (And is it even true?)

I am currently sweating beyond belief, after drinking tea at 90 degrees outside. That’s why I’m asking. Should I take a cold shower and get my some cold water?

There is your answer! The more you sweat, the faster you cool down. The closer a beverage is to your body temperature, the less energy it takes out of your metabolism and the quicker it is accessible to your sweat glands.
