They have a different set of stuff that affects them; and different (sometimes nonexistent) defense mechanisms
Recently I saw an article about how ants tend to injuries. They have special ways to clean wounds depending on where they are, up to and including ways to amputate damaged legs. I didn’t even think about that— that ants can get infected cuts and so on. But they can, and they seem aware of it!
