How do pandas help bamboo forests grow, and do bamboo forests rely on pandas?

Question

So I was reading about pandas and apparently they fill a small ecological nich with bamboo, Their diet being around 90 percent bamboo. And I was wondering, is this a sort of symbiotic relationship? What do the bamboo forests get from such a close relationship with pandas? Will removing a panda hurt the forest?

when they eat and move around, they spread bamboo seeds in their poop, which can help new bamboo grow.
