Humans have 4-chamber hearts with 2 rough “sections”. This pushes blood through the lungs to oxygenate, back to the heart, then through to the rest body to distribute oxygen and return deoxygenated blood back to the start of this process for re-entry into the lungs.
Octopi have an extra heart before each gill, helping push blood through these gills and oxygenate. After this, a central hearth pushes blood through the rest of the body.
Similar system really, just organized differently. It’s all variations of a theme, and having 1 or multiple is just a body plan difference.
EDIT: correction
A lot of insects have multiple psuedo-hearts, basically tube-segments that constrict to pump blood around the insect’s body better.
