I read they can use the earths magnetic field to navigate, however the magnetic poles are not fixed but shift year to year. How can they still navigate back if the reference point isnt the same
The magnetic poles do not shift very quickly. Only a few tens of km per year. Also, it’s not likely that the turtles rely solely on the Earth’s magnetism for navigation but rather a combination of factors.
