How do twist magnetic switches work (like Magswitch)?

I don’t know what a magswitch is, but a reed switch is a capsule with two thin metal strips mounted with a gap which closes when a magnet is brought close. If you had the magnet in a moulding with a shape that lifted up and away from a reed switch as you rotated the moulding you could turn a current on or off … However, I’m not sure if that’s what you’re asking.

It’s full of magnets arranged in a way that makes their magnetic fields effectively cancel each other out, so they stop sticking to things. When you twist it to “on” they come out of alignment, and start sticking again.
