How is the vape liquid converted to vapor? Is there some kind of actual ‘burning’ taking place? And what exactly is the vapor that is exhaled?

Basically, a metal heating element is placed nearby ventilation holes and the tank of fluid, so when the user draws air past it, the heating element vaporizes it. Nothing is burned.

Vape juice is mainly made up of propylene glycol, Vegetable glycerin, nicotine, flavor and water. There is a heating coil in a vape that heats the liquid to make the vapors. As you inhale, the vapors mix with the air then enter your mouth. The heating is usually resistive but inductive heating is also being developed for the same. There’s no burning/combustion in a vape.

Without a lot of vape nerdery, a battery sends wattage to a metal coil which heats up and contacts with cotton wadding soaked in vape juice. The juice vapor is a vector for nicotine and flavor which is delicious.
