How do we perceive a person’s face good looking or attractive?

A lot of people are talking about symmetry and golden ratio. Go look at pictures of good looking people. Preferably not celebrities. You will quickly figure out that the truth is a lot more complicated then that. Lots of people have symmetry and ratios without being attractive. A lot of attractive people don’t have high symmetry etc, you get the idea.

There is a combination of nature and nurture at play. Some of what we find attractive is dictated by our gene’s. Some of it has to do with prior experiences. There is a lot of disagreement on how much nature determines and how much of it is nurture. One thing everyone agrees on is that both play a role.
