How do wounds heal?

right after an injury, your blood brings a lot of good stuff (causing swelling) like platelets, proteins, white blood cells, etc., that first clots/clumps the blood to try to close the wound and then builds a framework for healing to occur on. the immune system works to get rid of and keep bad stuff out (partly by forming a hard scab to protect the softer/fresher stuff underneath, partly with special cells to eat or kill bacteria) so your body can work on healing and putting new cells on top of the framework.
