Sound is a waves of air, air waves are formed by vibrating speaker’s diaphragm.

Similar to how you produce a voice by vocal chords

A speaker is composed by a permanent magnet attached to a elastic membrane and an electromagnet put at a small distance. The electromagnet can be activated with an electric signal. By sending electricity through the electromagnet, the permanent magnet can be attracted or pushed away, thus creating the sound waves.

A mobile phone speaker is essentially the same, just small enough to fit the phone case.
