The most I see is about 30, and that itself fills up most of the deck. But they are stated to have capacity for 50, 60, or even 70 aircraft. How so?

Buoyancy is awesome, they’re enormous, and made of metal. The amount of air in them is enough to keep the whole thing afloat. Much like a sailboat or a kayak stays on the water without sinking. Or if you are in a pool floating and you take a deep breath you’ll raise up in the water.
