My google searches gave me nothing. How does fat stay in the same place even after pushing on-or squeezing a body part? Our bodies tend to consistently keep fat in the same places. Why is that, and how is it fixed in place?

Fat isn’t a “free” substance floating around in your body. Body fat is living tissue. It’s all stored inside fat cells. Fat cells are like tons of little pouches that are living cells, and store the fat inside them along with the other cell stuff. Together, the group of fat cells forms a body tissue (adipose tissue) that commonly gets called “fat” but *it’s not actually just “fat”* like a scoop of lard is.
**Fat can’t move around for the same reason you can’t squeeze your bicep muscle down into your forearm.**
