How does genetics work when it cons to height? Is there a “tall” gene?

I understand the dominant and recessive genes in something like being red headed. But how does it work for height?

There are several, actually, and as u/mjmurcott said it’s possible and common for things like environment and nutrition to affect height. For an example of someone who just got really lucky, former NBA player Shawn Bradley apparently has [pretty much every “tall” gene humans can get.](https://news.byu.edu/news/byu-genetic-researchers-solve-giant-mystery-how-shawn-bradley-got-be-so-tall)

There isn’t a single gene, instead there are a number of different genes which operate to describe the potential height, diet and environmental factors then work together to see if you achieve the potential height. – https://youtu.be/ZGXa3Oj-sGE
