How does human trafficking work in America.

My gf went out with her friends to a restaurant mind you its a wednesday night around 11:30pm, and a local shitty restaurant. They were the only customers in there as well. Apparently the owner a nice older lady came, and sat down with them. Everything was cool the first 10 minutes, but after the owner then tried liking getting their numbers exclaiming they could hook them up with some, and I quote the owner said she has “hot asian dudes” who are “regulars”, then she said “I will call and the guys pay everything”. And my gf is saying that it was a human trafficking scheme. But I just don’t believe it. I think it’s more that my gf and her friends are cute and the owner wants cute girls as regulars to attract more people in. I get with foreigners who don’t speak english, and just moved here get trafficked, but I don’t understand Americans. Also at a certain point wouldn’t it just be kidnapping that she is afraid of, and not trafficking? I am man who doesn’t know and would like to be educated.

Why would you let your gf alone in these kind of places in the first place ? Going out and drinking with unkown guys ? I would worry more about that

That’s not human trafficking it’s just solicitation of casual sex work. Sometimes wealthy men will try to find working class girls and pay for lots of stuff on dates in exchange for sex and sometimes expensive gifts.

Human trafficking is actually mostly forced labor in America- stuff like people putting up ads for a live in house cleaner, or a chance to start life over as a monk in San Francisco, all rent and expenses paid, or sometimes church groups or the troubled teen industry will make kids do labor as a “character building” exercise. Or sometimes a company will have a debt that they make you incur to get started with a company, and they keep adding more things onto the debt, or make excuses as to why they can’t pay you or won’t pay you, but also you’re in a situation where you can’t leave. Cults are often covers for forced labor, and people who are homeless or are having difficulty paying for housing or who are disabled or dependent on a caregiver sometimes get targeted, too.

It’s just a job, but you can’t leave and they manipulate things to make sure you don’t get paid and you can’t leave.

Nothing about this seems like trafficking or kidnapping. My guess is the owner has some regular customers that spend a lot of money when there are cute girls there and don’t come when it’s empty. She was just trying to make some money legitimately, but she wanted to check if your gf was open to it before asking them to come out.
