How does hypoglycemia work and why does it cause depressive moments when glucose isn’t present?

Insulin reduces sugar when levels are high. When there is no sugar and there is insulin, then you run in a deficit. More like depressive moments I would say it’s irritability. I am no doctor but a father of a girl with diabetes 1.
