Title. And I mean this in a scientific way, like does your brain do or release something specific or doesn’t do something that it should normally?

Stress releases hormones that activate your flight or fight response. This shuts down all “unnecessary” processes like cell repair, digestion, your immune system, etc., leaving your body unable to do its normal processes and also be more suceptible to sickness. It also releases other hormones to increase your heart rate, blood pressure, etc., which can causes long term health problems like cardiovascular disease.
