How does the back muscles help generate more power in your punch?

Boxers often have a muscular back but I don’t know how it helps generate power. (English is not my first language, so sorry if I wrote something wrong)

When they throw a punch, they’re often twisting their bodies a bit as well. Their back and core muscles help their body pivot to get more acceleration/force behind the punch. The shoulders help with swinging the arm, which adds more power.
