How does the body separate the gas in carbonated beverages so quickly that one burps pure gas almost immediately?

The body doesn’t need to separate it. The gas in the carbonated beverage is dissolved in water under very high pressure. Once the bottle cap is open and you start drinking it, this pressure is rapidly decreased so the gas is free to be released back into the air.
