How does the brain store or produce hormones until it’s actually needed for something like a fight or flight situation?

Some cells contain pockets called vesicles, where they can pile up a neurotransmitter or hormone and hold it indefinitely. When you need it, you produce something called a ‘releasing factor’ or ‘releasing hormone’, which tells all the cells in an area to pop their vesicles and let out the thing they’ve been storing.

Adrenaline, for one, isn’t produced by the brain. It’s produced in the adrenal gland which sits atop your kidneys.
