TL;DR Your body makes too much bone in places it shouldnt.

It is a genetic disorder where your body makes too much of a protein that is responsible for making stiff structures like Bones (or replace soft cartillage like your ear into stronger bones like your knuckles), or Skeletal muscles like your biceps muscle. Normally, this is turned on and off at specific times. Unfortunately, in the case of fibrodysplasia ossificans, it is forced on.
