how does VR work?

It’s actually pretty interesting. I want you to think of your eyes. Now it’s not hard to think of your eyes each as a camera. Taking images of the world and sending them to your brain. However each camera is getting 2 slightly different images because they are right next to each other.
That difference in the 2 images is how our brain finds out how far away something is aka “depth perception”. It’s why people who lose an eye often have a hard time with doors and grabbing things until they can adapt their behavior.
VR works by using 2 slightly different angles of the same image and then project 1 to each eye separately. This tricks your brain into seeing the depth that isn’t actually there.
