For a lot of things, it doesn’t. Ever see a baby try feed themselves a Cheerio? At first their movements are jerky and uncoordinated. They are lucky if they get the thing near their mouth, let alone in it. As they practice, the brain develops and improves control over gross motor skills and eventually fine motor skills. Before you know it, that they can pick up dozens Cheerios, get them in their mouths, and pester you for more before you can even get the box put away.
