Take a breath, however you’d normally do so.

Now, try to take a breath so that your upper chest is what’s expanding first when you breathe in–that’s a relatively shallow breath.

Now, try to take a breath so that your lower chest/stomach is what’s expanding first. That’s a deeper breath, using your diaphragm.

Both types of breathing use the diaphragm, but the second way moves a lot more air in and out with more force. So when you’re singing or yelling, breathing like this can help you increase your volume.

I’ve never tried, but maybe you just sorta hold it up to your mouth and yell into it and maybe the rubber causes some sort of reverberations? is this something I should try with it?
