How good is the data for dark energy?

I just saw an fascinating discussion between youtube favorite Sabine and prominent astrophysicist Subir Sarkar.

[How good is the evidence for dark energy?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1mwYxkhMe8)

I couldn’t follow most of it, but it appears that there are a number of criticisms regarding the evidence for dark energy.

From my limited understanding, Dr Sarkar’s criticisms relate to

1. Fundamental issues with the experimental data set
2. Issues with methodological and statistical rigor
3. Issues with data transparency

Poor, basically what they are doing is saying according to the measurements we have taken and existing theories of the universe something is missing. Extrapolating from that they have worked out what the properties of the “missing” stuff should be and that is now what they are looking for. However there really needs to be a total re-evaluation of the models before an leaping to the idea of dark energy.
