I know, that there are nozzles inside the dishwasher that distribute water over the dishes, but how the detergent from the pod is distributed evenly? It drops from the compartment on the door to small slot on the rack and what then?
The pod dissolves, and the mix of water + dissolved cleaners is sprayed throughout the compartment.

The water in a dishwasher is re-used, being sprayed on to the dishes and draining back to the bottom multiple time during the wash. I guess after the first one or two times it goes round the detergent will be pretty thoroughly mixed in.

When the dishwasher is in “soap mode” its re-circulating the same water. It might get re-heated, but the pod is released, dissolves into a fixed amount of water, and that water is sprayed about long enough we to be evenly enough to get the job done.
