They are not really under any obligation to make your teeth “super white” – just to whiten more than a non-whitening version of the toothpaste.

There are other more expensive products and techniques that can make your teeth much whiter. Since toothpaste is a cheap product it doesn’t make sense for it to have to work really hard to do super whitening.

There is an effective maximum price that a typical customer will pay for that toothpaste, so at a certain point, adding whitening effectiveness will only add cost and will result in less profit.

Do you drink coffee? I have gotten in the habit of drinking water with my coffee or just chugging it and rinsing my mouth with water…

Dental trauma can discolor as well. I got my teeth bashed in during a seizure and my teeth have a yelowish tint from that. Who knew that teeth permanently bruise?

Because it isnt natural. Your teeth are off-white, not white. They will stay that way unless you force it.

According to the toothpaste adverts in the UK, as the enamel on teeth wears thin, the under layer of tooth starts showing through and this under layer is yellow in colour

I’m just a random guy with no knowledge or expertise so that could be pure marketing for their enamel strengthening toothpaste
