if skulls don’t have prominent nose bones, why do noses protrude so much and feel so hard?

The nasal septum, the plate that divides your nose into two halves, has a bony component on top and a cartilage part lower that cannot be left attached to the skull for the purpose of display. So a skull always looks like it has had half of its nose cut off. The nose is so prominent because of evolution, basically. The air needs to cool off or get warmer (depending on the climate you’re from) when it reaches your lungs.
