If you mix water with shampoo to make it last more, do microbes and bacteries in the water lower the efficiency of shampoo?

If you use tap water there should be no microbes of bacteria. Adding water to shampoo to make it last longer doesn’t make sense. You would have to use more to get the proper cleaning.

Add a few drops of water to get the last bit of shampoo but don’t dilute the shampoo. That’s a waste of money.

The only things that would lower the efficiency of the shampoo are two things: the hardness if your tap water and the amount of water you add to get the last drops of shampoo out of the bottle.

Shampoo isn’t working the same way yeast does, it’s really just soap for your head. When you add water you water it down but that just means there is more water in the soap which dilutes it. It just makes it weaker as a soap since it’s not as concentrated.
