I’m sick, why does it feel easier to breathe cool air?

I’m sick and stuffed up right now, it’s super hot and muggy outside now, and inside, while warm, it’s cooler, but easier to breathe the air.

And when I goto my basement, which is very cool, I find it super easy to breathe.

Why can I breathe cooler air than I can warm(perhaps more humid) air?

Cool air usually has less humidity than warm air. When the air is humid, it has more moisture, which can make it feel harder to breathe.
