Is it true that hackers use drones to wirelessly hack non-wireless systems? If so, how can it be done without destroying electrical components of the system being hacked?

The word “hack” is used extremely loosely. Instead, consider just injecting a wireless signal into a non wireless system

It’s possible, yes:

1. Have a drone that flies to an interesting location and attacks the wifi network.
2. Once you’re on the wifi network, it almost certainly connects to wired devices at some point. It’s good practice to keep wifi as isolated as possible from anything important, but that’s by no means an universal practice.
3. Attack the wired device.

So you have, for instance: Drone => Wifi AP => router => wired server

Eg, I have a friend who is a complete luddite who doesn’t use any wireless technology, and you want to prank him over cell phone service. Well, you can’t phone him because he doesn’t have a cell phone, but you can phone me and convince me to tell him what you want.
